I'll have more time after this weekend to bring back the more thoughtful posts.

Anyways, Coheed & Cambria released a new music video on their MySpace yesterday for "The Broken" off their upcoming album "Year Of The Black Rainbow." This album, their fifth, drops April 13th and will serve as a prequel in their Amory Wars storyline. Prior to its release, Coheed will embark on a world tour that will include two stops in Oklahoma -- Cain's Ballroom on April 30th @ 7pm & the Diamond Ballroom May 1st @ 7pm. Cain's tickets are slightly more expensive, priced at $29 as opposed to the Diamond Ballroom's price of $25.

This video is epic -- basically a sci-fi nerd's wet dream. There are giant mechs, airships, a massive battle, and explosions. It's well edited and syncs up nicely with the song. In short, this is the best Coheed video since "Welcome Home." You don't get to see the band play, but this gritty, futuristic battle sequence is absolutely dazzling and plays well with the band's grand space opera theme. Enjoy!
</rss:item><rss:item rdf:about="http://www.antlionblog.com/blog/2010/3/9/new-ok-go-music-video-for-this-too-shall-pass-video.html"><rss:title>New OK Go music video for "This Too Shall Pass" (VIDEO)</rss:title><rss:link>http://www.antlionblog.com/blog/2010/3/9/new-ok-go-music-video-for-this-too-shall-pass-video.html</rss:link>

<dc:subject>Music music video ok go this too shall pass</dc:subject>

What'll these guys think of next?
I'm going to go ahead and preemptively answer some of the questions you will likely have about the video while not revealing too much of its contents. Yes, it is a one shot sequence. Yes, the members of OK Go had help. Caltech scientists, MIT Media Lab, plus about 55 to 60 people from Syyn Labs (including some folks who worked on the NASA Mars Exploration Rover program) helped the band design and build the contraption. The video took about 60 takes for the machine to function properly with it taking 30 people up to an hour to reset it. It took 6 months, from concept to finish, to complete the video (two months of planning plus four months of design and filming). Get excited. Science rocks. If it's after 10pm, I'm either tuned-in to Comedy Central or Adult Swim. So, I missed The Heavy perform on the Late Show with David Letterman back in January. Now I wish I'd been in the audience. These boys rocked Letterman!

That night, the English quartet was backed by the horns section of the Dap-Kings, the same band that collaborated with Amy Winehouse on her Back to Black album (you can thank them for Rehab's classic soul vibe). Anyways, the performance was so stellar David Letterman himself requested an encore, which marked the first time he'd ever requested an encore from a band on his show. He and Paul Schaefer even contributed in a call-and-response section during the second performance of "How You Like Me Now." Combined with providing the background track for Kia's Super Bowl ad, 2010 is shaping up to be a good year for The Heavy. Sock monkey on a jet ski + The Heavy? I could get used to this.So I was watching last week's episode of Lost on ABC's website, when I caught Kia's Superbowl ad for the 2011 Sorento. I only caught half of the Superbowl and I guess I missed that particular ad (sue me). The background song for the commercial sounded like a total jam, so I did what everyone does -- I Googled the ad and tracked down the song title. Then I thought to myself, "Haven't I done this before?" The answer was "yes" -- with another car ad to boot. Last time I had to Google the 2010 Cadillac SRX ad after hearing Phoenix's "1901." A few years ago, I almost fell out of my chair when I heard space rockers Hum and their hit track "Stars" on a 2008 CTS ad. Whoever started this trend where ad companies use stellar indie songs deserves a cookie -- specifically one of those tasty sugar cookies you can buy at Target with the pink frosting and sprinkles. You know what I'm talking about.

Original members Cody Votolato and Johnny Whitney both played in the now defunct Blood Brothers before teaming up with an ex-Pretty Girls Make Graves member to form Jaguar Love. The band posted the following on their MySpace on February 16, 2010:

Well, Stereo Blastin' (the final name... maybe) is the name of a little game I came up with for this site. It plays off the old English wedding tradition of the bride wearing "something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue" (I'm purposefully leaving out the sixpence). Overall, I think Stereo Blastin' could be a fun, interactive way to share music. Here's how it works!

In the episode, Chris works up the courage to ask out Ellen, a classmate with down syndrome, after a near death experience in the woods. While on a date, Chris asks Ellen about her family. She replies, saying her dad is an accountant and her mom is "the former governor of Alaska."

Palin responded with the following in a Facebook note:

People are asking me to comment on yesterday’s Fox show that felt like another kick in the gut. Bristol was one who asked what I thought of the show that mocked her baby brother, Trig (and/or others with special needs), in an episode yesterday. Instead of answering, I asked her what she thought. Here is her conscientious reply, which is a much more restrained and gracious statement than I want to make about an issue that begs the question, “when is enough, enough?”...
